What is the CITRUS study

CITRUS is a nutritional intervention study that wants to evaluate the healthy effects of the consumption of 100% natural orange juice on blood pressure.

How can I participate

We are looking for 252 people aged between 18 and 65 years, non-smokers who do not suffer from any illness and does not take medication regularly. If this is the case perhaps you can help us!

Your participation in the study would be to take 2 glasses (500 ml) of orange juice a day for three months. You would come to Reus every two weeks to visit, in a total of eight visits with the medical team, and to collect the product.

Where is the study conducted

The study will be conducted at the Technology Centre of Nutrition and Health (CTNS) in Reus from September 2015 until September 2017.

Research teams from the CTNS researchers from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University Rovira i Virgili and the University Hospital Sant Joan de Reus.

Promoters of the study

This study is funded by an international consortium called Citrus Health Claim Initiative, formed by the State of Florida in the United States, the European subsidiary of the International Association of manufacturers of juices (AIJN) and major producers of citrus fruits and juices from Brazil, as part of its scientific strategy.
